Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Distance Education

Distance Education, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Public Gardens, Hyderabad - 500 004, A.P., on payment of Rs. 250/- (Rupees two
hundred and fifty only) through crossed demand draft only, drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University" from any nationalised bank and payable at Hyderabad. Payment in the form of cash or through cheques, postal orders or money orders will not be accepted. Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a demand draft for Rs. 250/- and a self-address stamped (Rs.50/-) envolope (24x18cm size) along with requisition mentioning clearly the name of the course. The candidate is requested to write his / her name, address and course on the reverse side of the demand draft. The application form and
prospectus can also be downloaded from the university website: www.teluguuniversity.ac.in and submit the same along with a crossed demand draft for Rs.250/- drawn in favour of The Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, payable at Hyderabad towards the cost of application along with the DD for course fee.
HOW TO APPLY
The following documents / certificates should be submitted along with the application.
1) Candidate who is eligible for Admission can pay the prescribed course fee through crossed demand draft drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University" from any
nationalized bank payable at Hyderabad and submit the Demand Draft along with the application
form. The course fee for the first year must be paid in full at the time of submission of the filled-in application form. Application of any candidate will be registered only on receipt of the course fee through demand draft.
2) Candidate should affix recent passport size photographs, wherever specified.
3) Original degree certificate or its equivalent certificate along with a xerox copy of the same have to be submitted by the candidates, applying for any of the post-graduate courses.
4) Those who submit the application by post must enclose a self-addressed envelope (24 x 18 cm) affixing Rs. 60/- worth postal stamps for returning the original degree certificate after verification.
5) Those who are applying for Certificate Course in Modern Telugu have to submit a xerox copy of the SSC certificate.
6) Those who are applying for Sangeetha Visharadha Course should submit the xerox copy of the age proof certificate.

SUBMISSION OF FILLED IN APPLICATION
Applications filled in all respects, along with the required documents and the demand draft towards the course fee have to be submitted to the Director, Centre for Distance Eduction, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Public Gardens, Hyderabad - 500 004, Andhra Pradesh in person or by Registered post on or before the 29-11-08.With Rs. 100/- fine should submit the application form before 19-1-2009.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
1. Application form must be filled in all respects by the candidates. Incomplete applications are liable for rejection.
2. If the information provided by any applicant is proved to be false at any point of time, his / her Admission will be cancelled.
3. Admission in a particular course or programme will be given only on payment of the course fee in full for one year.
4. Course fee once paid will not be refunded.
5. The candidates admitted in all the courses are eligible to receive the study material of the concerned course.
6. Annual Examinations will be conducted by the University for each programme as per the academic schedule.
7. There are no supplementary examinations for any of the programmes offered by the University through the Centre for Distance Education.
8. The Centre for Distance Education will organize the contact classes for each programme, every year.
9. The Admissions are provisional and are liable to be cancelled in case the student's behaviour and participation found unsatisfactory.
10. There is no 'detention' system in Distance Education. Candidates who fail in the examination or remain absent or could not pay the examination fee on time are allowed to continue their study for the next academic year. However, they are permitted to complete the course in four (4) academic years from the date of joining. Those who could not complete the course within four years have to re-register by paying Rs. 500/- for every year.
11. Candidates after qualifying in all the papers in I year or II year or both can only attempt for improvement for individual papers or all the papers within 4 years of duration. Only single attempt is allowed.
12. If the last day of any transanction falls on holiday, the following working day will be allowed and not beyond.
13. The candidates should clearly mention their medium of instruction, failing which they will be considered for Telugu Medium.
14. Those who wish to submit the downloaded application should send two DDs - one for Rs. 250/- towards POTTI SREERAMULU TELUGU UNIVERSITY

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for seeking Admission into the
following courses offered through distance mode. There is no restriction of age and area for
admission into these courses. Candidates from India and abroad can seek admission.

1. M.A. ASTROLOGY (Jyotisham)
Eligibility : Any graduate or its equivalent degree from a recognised University with basic
knowledge and aptitude for Astrology.
Duration : 2 years
Medium : Telugu & English
Course Fee : Rs. 3,000/- per year
US $ 150 per year for candidates from abroad.

2. M.A. TELUGU
Eligibility : Any graduate with Telugu as second language or as optional, or its equivalent
degree in Oriental Learning.
Duration : Two years
Course Fee : Rs. 3,000/- per year
US $ 150 per year for candidates from abroad.

3. M.A. SANSKRIT
Eligibility : Any graduate with any one of the modern or classical languages as second
language or its equivalent degree in Oriental Learning.
Duration : Two years
Medium : Telugu / English
Course Fee : Rs. 3,000/- per year
US $ 150 per year for candidates from abroad.

4. MCJ (Master of Communication and Journalism)
Eligibility : Any graduate from a recognised University.
Duration : Two years (Integrated Course)
Medium : Telugu
Course Fee : Rs.4,300/- per year
US $ 200 per year for candidates from abroad.

5. CERTIFICATE COURSE IN MODERN TELUGU
Eligibility : SSC or its equivalent examination.
This course is meant for those who do not know Telugu (useful for non-Telugus)
Duration : One year
Medium : English
Course Fee : Rs. 700/-per year
US $ 30 for candidates from abroad.

6. SANGEETHA VISHARADA
Eligibility : should have completed 12 years of age at the time of admission.
Duration : Four years
Medium : Telugu
Course Fee : Rs. 700/- per year

This National Workshop has been organised by The Department Of Bio-Technology of the home college. Also the Sponsor of this workshop is , Department Of BioiTechnology, Ministry Of Science And Technology , Government Of India, New Delhi.

The objective of this program is to provide training on Bio-Informatics , Genome Analysis etc.

Level of Participants

Young Academicians / Scientists / Research Scholars and PG Students from academic, scientific and Industrial setups working or desirous of working in the area of Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and various other branches of Life Sciences are invited to attend the workshop.
